Secondary deposits
Except for 5 Secondary yards wilayates which are devoid of storage capacities and supplied from contiguous centres, all the other wilayates have fuel yards ensuring a cover of their needs.
- Distribution Network
The fuels national distribution network comprises more than 1723 points of sale, 60% of which owned by private operators.
The LPG fuel is distributed by only 252 points of sale, represented 14% of the naional network, and unleaded gasoline is available in some 112 filling stations located as follow :

Among the 42 centers of emplissage of LPG currently in activity, only one belongs to private limited liability company SEGAL of Laghouat, the remainder constitutes the inheritance of the public company Naftal.

- LPG distribution network
The LPG distribution network covers the whole territory and comprises more than 11.000 points of sale, 96 % of which owned by private retailers. Moreover, direct sales of conditioned butane gas to consumers initially intended for remote places and deprived of points of sale are now increasingly extended to others, to the benefit of users thus avoiding a cumbersome transportation of bottles over long distances.
- fuels and LPG products road transportation :
The oil products road transportation on behalf of the company Naftal, records an increasing private ownership. Currently, 47% of the conditioned LPG deliveries national volume are made by private carriers. Concerning fuels, the share of private carriers is estimated at 30% of delivered volumes.
It is to be specified that the activity of road transport of petroleum products, service carried out for the account of a distributor, is not subjected to authorization of the Ministry for Energy and the Mines, in accordance with the executive decree n°97-435.
3. Bitumen
The bitumens are distributed on the national market mainly by the public company Naftal which owns 14 bitumen formulation units spread throughout the country. Manufactured products are mainly cut-backs and very few emulsions.
Moreover, the French company Elf is distributing bitumen through its Algerian law subsidiary "SARL ELF OIL ALGERIE".
